RE:                 APPOINTMENT OF NON-EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR


Hardman Resources Ltd is pleased to announce that Mr Robert Carroll was today
appointed to the Board of Hardman Resources Ltd as a non-executive Director.  Mr
Carroll is a graduate in Economics from the University of Sydney and a qualified
accountant with over 30 years experience in the resources industry including 21
years as a senior finance executive with Woodside Petroleum Ltd where he was
Chief Financial Officer from January 1997 to mid 2002.  He is currently a
non-executive Director with Sydney Gas Ltd.



Mr Carroll has substantial expertise in large scale financings of oil production
facilities, experience which is relevant to Hardman's future.  In addition the
appointment of Mr Carroll adds to the non-executive Director component of the
Hardman Board, enabling Hardman to strengthen its compliance with the new
corporate governance guidelines.



Attached is Appendix 3X, Initial Director's Interest Notice, as required by ASX.



Mr Alan Burns, Chairman of Hardman, said today, "I am very pleased Bob has
agreed to join the Board.  Bob has been involved at a senior level right through
the period of Woodside's transformation from an explorer to a major production
company and brings first class skills and knowledge to Hardman at the beginning
of its transition to large producer".
