                        Ben Bailey Plc Trading Update

Ben Bailey Plc is today issuing an update of trading ahead of reporting the
Group's financial results for the year ended 31 December 2003, due on the 2
March 2004.

The Group has continued to experience excellent trading conditions within its
area of operations and it is expected that the Group's results for 2003 will
show further substantial progress over 2002 and will exceed market expectations.

The position going forward into 2004 shows our forward sales position in excess
of the comparable period in 2003 together with a strong land bank.
