                       EXPECTED COMPLETION OF ACQUISITION
                               OF REBUS HR GROUP

The Board of Northgate Information Solutions plc ("Northgate" or the "Company")
today announces that completion of the acquisition of the Rebus HR Group is
expected to take place on Friday 23 January 2004.

Admission of the consideration shares and placing shares to be issued in
connection with the acquisition is expected to become effective and dealings in
the consideration shares and placing shares are expected to commence on Friday
23 January 2004.
