                               Issue of Equity


Strategic Retail plc ("the Company") announces that it has raised #400,000
(before expenses) by way of a placing of 4,000,000 new ordinary shares of 0.5p
each ("Ordinary Shares") at 10p per share ("the Placing"). The proceeds of the
Placing will be used by the Company to provide additional working capital.

Application has been made for 4,000,000 new Ordinary Shares to be admitted to
trading on AIM and dealings are expected to commence on 19 December 2006.  The
new Ordinary Shares will rank pari passu with the existing Ordinary Shares in
issue and bring the number of Ordinary Shares in issue following the Placing to
20,810,574.
