AIM RELEASE

KIMBERLEY DIAMOND COMPANY NL (the Company) (AIM: KDC)

The Company advises that Gem Diamonds Australia Pty Ltd (Gem), in accordance
with the Corporations Act 2001, has served on the Company a Form 604 - notice
of change of interests of substantial holder. Gem's holding in the Company has
increased to 22.78% being 97,745,860 ordinary fully paid shares.

The Company has also been served with a copy of Gem's Second Supplementary
Bidder's Statement as lodged with the Australian Securities and Investment
Commission.
