Trading in the 14 weeks to 8(th) May 2011 continued to be a challenge resulting in Group like for like sales for the 40 weeks down 3%, slightly lower than the 2.7% achieved in the first half. Given this retail trading environment we continue to work hard to ensure our cost base is appropriate for the current sales level.

The work we initiated last year with branding and store design specialists has come to fruition with the launch in the past two weeks of four redesigned stores. They feature a new layout, display fixtures, colour scheme and directional signage. Early signs are encouraging and we look forward to reporting on their progress later in the year.

Additionally, we can confirm that our new website will be launching on Monday 16(th) May. It includes a facility for customers to order from a comprehensive range of cards and gifts on-line and fully personalise them. Most of the designs are exclusive to Clintons and offer full on-line personalisation with text or text and photo upload. We believe the site offers many unique features and will be continually developed and improved. A smart phone application for personalisation will be launched in the next few weeks incorporating the website reminder service.

We are now developing an in-store web based kiosk enabling customers to order on-line from our stores or to personalise cards and print them in-store. We expect to be launching this in the autumn.

These in-store and on-line initiatives will be underpinned by the launch, also in the autumn, of a new loyalty card offering rewards and discounts to members.
