Further to the Proposals for the reconstruction and winding up of the Company 
contained in the circular dated 19 December 2013 the Board of BlackRock New 
Energy Investment Trust announces that the listed equity portfolio available 
for sale has now been fully realised. 
 
The Proposals remain conditional on the passing of the special resolution to be 
proposed at the general meeting of the Company's shareholders convened for 14 
February 2014.  The Scheme will not become effective unless the resolution is 
passed.
