Dow Jones News
1231 GMT - Ryanair Holdings is among the most mentioned
companies across news items over the past six hours, according to
Factiva data, after the budget airline reported a 9% rise in
passenger numbers for June. Ryanair said it carried 17.4 million
passengers in June compared with 15.9 million for the same month a
year ago, despite more than 900 flights being canceled mainly due
to air-traffic-control strikes which affected 160,000 passengers.
June load factor--a measure of how full a plane is--was unchanged
at 95%. AJ Bell investment director Russ Mould wrote that strike
action remains the key hurdle to clear, particularly over the
all-important summer period, noting that further ATC strikes are
planned in July. "There are additional airport and airline-related
strikes threatened for the coming months which could see big delays
or cancellations, causing further mayhem," Mould added. Dow Jones
