0915 GMT - Ryanair is among the most mentioned companies across news items over the past four hours, according to Factiva data. The budget airline posted a rise in net profit and revenue for the first quarter, beating consensus, as passenger numbers rose to 50.4 million from 45.5 million in the year-prior period. The company logged net profit of EUR662.9 million with revenue of EUR3.65 billion. Analysts surveyed by FactSet were expecting net profit of EUR506.2 million and revenue of EUR3.59 billion. The low-cost carrier said bookings in the second quarter were strong but that fare increases in the period will be lower those seen in the first quarter. It also said that traffic for fiscal 2024 will be below previous guidance due to Boeing delivery delays in the spring and fall of 2023. Dow Jones & Co. owns Factiva.
