New Research Center In Austria

21 scientific institutions, 54 companies, 17 associated participants, and 16 international institutions and companies have come together on a project for blockchain development in Austria. The Austrian government sponsored research and promotion agency coordinates this type of research, working with The COMET Centers to tie this one together. ASUS Mining Developments

One of the world's largest graphics card producers is ASUS. The Taiwan-based company is now partnered with Quantumcloud to create a line of GPUs that have a cryptocurrency mining focus. They products will allow users to mine Bitcoin in the downtime of the hardware. Unlike traditional mining processes, users will receive earnings using PayPal or Chinese app WeChat. ASUS Quatumcloud make no guarantee on specific profits or outcomes for users. They expect users to estimate cost potential themselves, as not everyone pays the same price for electricity - the primary cost involved in cryptocurrency mining.

General Motors Blockchain Patent

Development of self-driving cars is in the works for nearly every major car company around the world, but GM is pushing boundaries for the revolutionary process in the patent office. Their most recent application proposes a system using blockchain technology to manage data from entire fleets of automated cars. Currently systems for such vehicles do not incorporate the ability for the cars to “speak” to each other. Using a blockchain network would provide a platform to facilitate these communications with the security of an immutable ledger. It could provide a myriad of other benefits as well, such as paying tolls, parking costs and other fee based services.
