Portugal's EDPR Gets $141 Million In Financing From Wells Fargo

Portuguese renewable energy company EDP Renovaveis SA (EDPR.LB) through its U.S. unit Horizon Wind Energy LLC has secured $141 million of institutional equity financing from Wells Fargo Wind Holdings LLC, EDPR said in a regulatory filing Monday.

Wells Fargo Wind Holdings in exchange will gain an interest in EDPR's Vento III wind farm portfolio, which has a total of 604 megawatts electricity producing capacity.

The financing deal comes at a time when most Portuguese companies are shut off from bank financing due to concerns about the country's sovereign debt crisis.
