Bateman Litwin awarded US$22 million contract by Arafura Resources to lead
definitive feasibility study in Australia


Amsterdam, the Netherlands, 8 April 2008 - Bateman Litwin N.V. ("Bateman Litwin"
or "the Group") is pleased to announce that its Chemical Technologies Business
Unit, a part of the Group's Advanced Technologies Division, has been appointed
by Arafura Resources Limited ("Arafura") as lead manager for the definitive
feasibility study for the Nolan's rare earths project in Australia. The value of
the contract is US$22 million.

Arafura is planning to establish industrial scale plants for the production of
20,000 tonnes per annum (tpa) rare earth elements, 150,000 tpa phosphoric acid,
150 tpa uranium and 400,000 tpa calcium chloride. The contract encompasses the
preparation of a Front End Engineering Design ("FEED") and Costing Package as
well as financial modelling for a Definitive Feasibility Study ("DFS"). The FEED
package will be based on various processes and technologies. Starting in July
2008, the overall duration of the DFS is expected to be twenty months.

Bateman Litwin will also be responsible for providing the processes for the ore
beneficiation, phosphoric acid and for the calcium chloride. Bateman Litwin will
be working alongside the Australian Nuclear Science and Technology Organisation
(ANSTO) which is responsible for the development of the rare earths and uranium
processes. The Group has also secured an exclusive right to execute future
projects for Arafura which will be based on processes and proprietary equipment
supplied by Bateman Litwin.

Glossary

Rare earth elements and rare earth metals are, according to IUPAC, the
collection of seventeen chemical elements in the periodic table, namely
scandium, yttrium, and the fifteen lanthanoids. The former two are included as
they tend to occur with the latter in the same ore deposits.

Calcium chloride (CaCl2), is an ionic compound of calcium and chlorine. It is a
commonly used chemical additive for food, household goods and industrial
equipment such as fire extinguishers and blast furnaces.
