QXL ricardo plc (the 'Company')


Appointment of independent non-executive director


The Company is pleased to announce today the appointment of Charles Burdick as
an independent non-executive director of the Company. Mr Burdick will also serve
as Chairman of the Company's Remuneration Committee and as a member of the Audit
and Nomination Committees.



Mr Burdick has held several senior positions in the telecommunications and media
industries, most recently serving as Chief Executive Officer of HIT
Entertainment, the independent children's entertainment producer and
rights-owner. From 1996 to 2004 he worked for Telewest Communications serving as
Managing Director and Group Finance Director. Mr Burdick has also held senior
finance roles with TimeWarner, US WEST and MediaOne.



Mr Burdick is currently a non-executive director of Kaupthing Singer &
Friedlander, Comverse Technologies and CTC Media, a Russian television network.

Mr Burdick was between February 2006 and September 2007 a non-executive director
of Bally Total Fitness Holding Corporation, which filed a petition for
reorganization under Chapter 11 of the United States Bankruptcy Code in July
2007, and whose reorganization was confirmed by the US Court in September 2007.
There are no further disclosures to be made in respect of paragraph 9.6.13 of
the FSA Listing Rules.
