Mattel’s all-employee rock and roll band, “The Toys,” took center stage at the 11th Annual FORTUNE Battle of the Corporate Bands Saturday taking third place within the "Best Corporate Band" category. This epic battle of corporate bands took place at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum in Cleveland, Ohio, presented by the National Association of Music Merchants (NAMM).

“The Toys performance represented the fun and playful culture that’s genuinely unique to Mattel,” said Tim Kilpin, executive vice president of Mattel Brands and founding member of The Toys. “It truly was an orchestrated team effort and the band rallied together to put on a spectacular show we’re proud of – and none of us will ever forget this amazing experience.”

With an energy-infused set list that included smash hit songs “Kids in America,” “We Got the Beat” and “The Boys of Summer,” The Toys rocked the limelight with punchy lyrics, expert showmanship and pronounced passion.

The Toys battled against seven corporate bands to compete for a coveted spot on FORTUNE’s “Best Corporate Band” list.

“We played against the very best corporate bands in America and had the time of our lives,” said Ned Ward, director of entertainment development at Mattel and founding member of The Toys. “Our dreams became reality playing onstage at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in front of family, fans and fellow rockers, not to mention a mind-blowing panel of judges.”

All members of The Toys played the fearless showdown with Tim Kilpin on keyboard (executive vice president of Mattel brands), Ned Ward on guitar (director of entertainment development), Felix Holst rocking the bass (vice president of design for the wheels group), Johanna Kent with vocals (director of human resources), Michael Heralda strumming the strings on guitar (staff designer) and Stephen Hallaian (senior engineer in electronics) drumming up a storm on percussion.
