Marathon Petroleum reported a disruption to electricity and above-normal emissions at its Galveston Bay oil refining complex in Texas.

"Refinery experienced a power interruption causing swings on several units causing flaring until control was regained on effected units," the refinery said in a regulatory filing with the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality. It said the emissions happened Thursday, lasting about three-and-a-half hours.

"Stabilized units once power was restored," the refinery said, noting the catalytic feed hydrotreating unit was among those effected.

Marathon's 593,000-barrel-a-day Galveston Bay refining complex is located about 40 miles southeast of Houston.
