LIN TV Corp. (“LIN Media”; NYSE: TVL), a local multimedia company, is pleased to announce the recipients of its 2013 Minority Scholarship and Training Program in both Broadcast and Digital Media. Since the launch of the program in 1998, LIN Media has awarded more than $500,000 in scholarship funds to ambitious students interested in a wide spectrum of fields in or relating to broadcast television and digital media.

LIN Media’s 2013 Minority Broadcast Scholarship and Training Program was awarded to Cameron Edgeworth, a junior at the University of Alabama in Birmingham. As the first in his family to attend college, Mr. Edgeworth is pursuing a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication Studies with an emphasis in Mass Communication: Broadcasting. Mr. Edgeworth volunteers his time with the non-profit organization Camp Fire, in which he is a “Links Up Mentor” and inspires elementary school children to pursue their dreams and teaches them valuable lessons in teamwork, anti-bullying, and diversity. Through LIN Media’s Minority Broadcast Scholarship and Training Program, Mr. Edgeworth will earn hands-on training through a paid summer 2013 internship at WJCL-TV/WTGS-TV, the local ABC and FOX affiliates in Savannah, GA.

LIN Media’s 2013 Minority Digital Scholarship and Training Program was awarded to Ronny Latimore, a junior at Ferris State University, located in Big Rapids, Michigan. Mr. Latimore is pursuing his Bachelor of Science degree in Television and Digital Media Production. Next semester, he will serve as Vice President of Programming for Entertainment Unlimited, the University’s campus programming board. He is involved in numerous school and community organizations, including Family Youth Initiative, Give Kids the World Village and Heritage Group. From 2008 to 2013, Mr. Latimore participated in the Disney College Program, where he took part in personal and career development classes and built transferable skills such as problem-solving, teamwork, guest service and effective communication. Mr. Latimore will continue to advance his career in digital media through a paid summer 2013 internship at WAVY-TV/WVBT-TV, the local NBC and FOX affiliates in Norfolk, VA.

In addition to the summer internships, both students will each receive a two-year scholarship for up to ten thousand dollars ($10,000) per year, which can be used towards tuition, fees, books, and room and board.

“The success of LIN Media’s Minority Scholarship and Training Program is rooted in our company's desire to nurture future leaders in broadcasting and digital media and promote diversity in the workplace,” said Vincent Sadusky, LIN Media’s President and Chief Executive Officer. “Over the past 15 years, we have only strengthened our commitment and now many of our past recipients have successful careers within our company and throughout the industry.
