techniques, is pleased to announce that its CARDS technology will be used by
Votorantim Metals Canada Inc. ("Votorantim") in the Bathurst Mining Camp, New
Brunswick. 


The Bathurst Mining Camp (BMC) occupies a roughly circular area of approximately
70 km diameter in the Miramichi Highlands of northern New Brunswick. The area is
host to some 46 mineral deposits with known resources and another hundred
mineral occurrences, all hosted by Cambro-Ordovician rocks that were deposited
in an ensialic back-arc basin.


CARDS (Computer Aided Resources Detection System) is a state-of-the-art computer
system used by researchers at DIAGNOS to identify areas with a high statistical
probability of containing significant mineral deposits. The backbone of CARDS is
the MCubiX-KE (Knowledge Extraction) data mining engine. MCubiX-KE uses pattern
recognition algorithms to learn the signatures of positive and negative data
points and create a model that can make predictions on the positive or negative
nature of new data points. CARDS uses these powerful algorithms to analyze
digitally compiled historical exploration data and identify zones with a high
potential for the discovery of mineral deposits.

now, 19880 training points (drilling and rock EM and Topo) has been compiled, we
are therefore ready to start modeling in the next few days. We will be starting
with a known undeveloped base metal deposit signature to focus the targeting
process", explained Michel Fontaine, Vice-President of the division of natural
resources.
