ISTANBUL--Turk Telekomunikasyon AS (TTKOM.IS) said Thursday that it has placed binding bids to buy Cosmo Bulgaria Mobile EAD and Germanos Telecom Bulgaria AD as part of its regional expansion strategy.

Turk Telekom, which is controlled by Dubai-based Oger Telecom, didn't provide further details in its statement to the Istanbul Stock Exchange.

At 0910 GMT, Turk Telekom shares were trading 0.25% lower at TRY8.06, amid a wider Istanbul market that is 0.2% down.
