Business Wire
Kimberley Kates, CEO of Big Screen Entertainment Group (OTC:BSEG),
said in an interview with Francis Gaskins, President of
IPOdesktop.com and contributor to CNBC and Bloomberg TV, that Big
Screen Entertainment is uniquely positioned to prosper and grow in
todays business climate. The strategy and growth interview is
available at: http://www.screencast.com/t/wrp4A5zSc Kimberley Kates
was joined by senior management members David Zappone, President;
Michael Manasseri, Executive Vice President; and Stephen
Eckelberry, President of Production. Big Screen is a full-service
entertainment company, with divisions in film production, post
production, distribution and film sales. The Companys films have
been released in virtually every major outlet in the world,
including Blockbuster, NetFlix and Wal Mart. BABYSITTER WANTED Big
Screens critically acclaimed horror film, Babysitter Wanted, is
being released theatrically in the United States early next year;
Lionsgate UK is handling the overseas release. National Lampoon
(AMEX:NLN) is partnering with Big Screen to create awareness in the
film, especially in the college-age market, where National Lampoon
has a tremendous reach. AMERICAN FILM MARKET BSEG also spoke about
last weeks American Film Market (AFM), held in Santa Monica,
California. The AFM is the premier market for foreign film sales in
the United States. BSEG, along with its distribution partner, The
Independent Film Company, sold an impressive slate of over 60
films, films both produced in house by Big Screen, as well as by
independent producers. The AFM was the second major film market the
Company has attended this year, the first being the Cannes Market
in May. As with Cannes, the company sold multiple foreign
territories, and took significant strides in establishing itself as
a recognized player in the film distribution arena. SALES &
DISTRIBUTION Management stressed the importance of controlling
sales and distribution for its films. Typically, independent
producers hire outside sales agents to secure distribution.
Unfortunately, many such sales agents grossly overcharge producers
for their services, leaving the producers with little, if any,
revenue from distribution. Big Screen has taken a major step in
maximizing profitability by handling its own film sales.
Furthermore, it has given other independent producers a safe haven
in which to sell their films. About Big Screen Entertainment Group:
