--The CFO of Germany's RWE AG (RWEOY) said the utility is planning a large expansion of its businesses in the U.S. over the next few years, Reuters reported Wednesday.

--Markus Krebber said the company's focus would be on wind- and solar-generated power, the report said.

--RWE will acquire the assets of two German energy companies in the U.S., and will work to expand the existing 3 gigawatts of renewable energy to 8 GW, according to the report.
