Ford Motor Co. on Thursday said U.S. sales have dropped across categories as the Covid-19 pandemic ravages demand.

U.S. vehicle sales fell 12.5% in the first quarter year over year to 516,330, with the car segment hardest hit, dropping 36%. SUV sales fell 11% and truck sales were down 5.4%.

Ford sold 62,853 cars, 189,720 SUVs and 263,757 trucks in the first quarter.

Sales rose at single-digit percentage rates for Ford's van segment, as well as for its Lincoln brand.
