--Eni SpA is in early-stage talks with BP PLC to take over the
British oil company's assets in Algeria, Reuters reports, citing
three sources.
--The players are exploring an outright sale or an option for BP
to receive stakes in Eni's assets world-wide, as well as the
creation of a joint venture similar to the Angolan model, according
to the news outlet.
--Eni declined to comment, while BP wasn't immediately available
for comment when contacted by Dow Jones Newswires.
