Netflix said Tuesday that it would be offering U.S. subscribers ways to share their accounts with users outside their home.

The streaming giant said users can pay an extra $7.99 monthly fee to add an external user to their account. The company said it plans to email U.S. subscribers who are currently sharing a password outside their household.

The move comes nearly three months after Netflix announced a similar plan for Canada, Spain, Portugal and New-Zealand-based users to crack down on shared passwords.
