CVS Health Chief Financial Officer Shawn Guertin, who also serves as president of health services, is taking a leave of absence with the company citing unforeseen family-health reasons.

Tom Cowhey, senior vice president of corporate finance, has stepped in as interim CFO. Cowhey joined CVS in February 2022. He previously served as CFO of Surgery Partners.

CVS said Mike Pykosz, the chief executive of clinic-owner Oak Street Health, will take over as interim president of health services. CVS closed its $10.6 billion takeover of Oak Street earlier this year.

CVS is scheduled to report third-quarter results on Nov. 1, and hold an investor day on Dec. 5.
