Good News Just in Time for National Administrative Assistants Day
STAMFORD, Conn., April 20 /PRNewswire/ -- With National
Administrative Assistants Day on April 21, it is time to consider
one of the most routine and long-endured office mishaps: paper
cuts. (Logo: http://www.newscom.com/cgi-bin/prnh/20020701/IPLOGO )
According to a recent survey of 600 administrative assistants by
International Paper, more than half of all administrative
assistants who do routine filing receive at least one paper cut a
month. To remedy the problem, International Paper recently
introduced the first- ever Cutless(R) paper for file folders.
Office technology comes in all guises and the new file folders are
manufactured thicker, with a softer edge, yet are stiffer than
ordinary ones. Made in this way, the new file folders can lower the
number of paper cuts by 70 percent. "Granted, people don't think
too much about file folder paper cuts, but they are particularly
common and painful," said Rich Faber, marketing manager at
International Paper. "We talked to hundreds of people in our
research, and they said that they are getting file folder cuts all
the time. IP's cutless file folders are a simple solution to such a
common problem." International Paper, the leading paper products
company in the world, has recently introduced other innovations in
file folders. In addition to cutless paper for file folders, it
also recently launched WaterShed(R) file folder paper, which
resists office spills. "Liquid likes nothing more than paper," said
Faber. "Watershed file folders can save a lot of time and trouble
because they just don't soak up spills." Both products can be found
at office supply stores in specially marked boxes carrying both
cutless and watershed trademarks. International Paper is the
world's largest paper and forest products company. Businesses
include paper, packaging and forest products. As one of the largest
private forest landowners in the world, the company manages its
forests under the principles of the Sustainable Forestry Initiative
(R) (SFI) program, a system that ensures the continual planting,
growing and harvesting of trees while protecting wildlife, plants,
soil, air and water quality. Headquartered in the United States,
International Paper has operations in over 40 countries and sells
its products in more than 120 nations.
