Broadcasters and Around the World Leading Broadcasters Use PanAmSat

Corporation today announced it had successfully completed 17 days
of programming distribution for the summer games held in Athens,
Greece, supporting members of the Organizacion de
Telecomunicaciones Iberoamericanas (OTI) and other top broadcasters
in 30 countries around the world. In total, PanAmSat's global
hybrid satellite and fiber network delivered more than 10,000 hours
of live coverage and recorded highlights of the games to viewers in
Asia, Europe, Africa and throughout the Americas. "PanAmSat is a
key distributor of sporting events worldwide and has supported the
games ever since they were held in Barcelona, Spain in 1992. That
is just one of the reasons broadcasters around the world and
organizations such as the OTI turn to PanAmSat for reliable and

The PAS-1R, PAS-3, PAS-9 and Galaxy 4R satellites served as bridges
to the region for the programming from Athens. In total, PanAmSat
offered 17 different paths for broadcasters from around the world
to use in the transmission of the games to their home countries.
Many international customers in addition to OTI selected PanAmSat's
reliable infrastructure and the Company's numerous years of
experience to deliver coverage of the games. These customers
included: ABC, America TV, Canadian Broadcasting Corporation,
Caribbean Media Corporation, Globecast, Televisa, TV Azteca, TVN
Chile, Tele Red. Imagen. OTI is the main union for major
broadcasters in the Latin American region and provided access to
the broadcast signal to its member countries using PanAmSat's

operated a remote teleport with a full engineering, operations and
project management group that supported our customers' live
coverage and recorded highlights of the events. Customers were able
to transmit programming using PanAmSat's extensive network,
connecting the International Broadcast Center in Athens with their
home nations. In addition, PanAmSat provided VoIP solutions that
delivered voice and data connectivity for customers. PanAmSat's
