BlackRock New Energy Investment Trust plc

Meetings held on 6 February 2014

Further to the proposals for the reconstruction and winding up of the Company
contained in the circular dated 19 December 2013, at general meetings of the
Company's ordinary shareholders and subscription shareholders held today, the
special resolutions relating to the Proposals were passed. Copies of the
resolutions will shortly be available for inspection via the National Storage
Mechanism, which is located at http://www. morningstar.co.uk/uk/NSM.

The Proposals remain conditional on the passing of the special resolution to be
proposed at the general meeting of the Company's shareholders convened for 14
February 2014. The Scheme will not become effective unless the resolution is
passed.

99.68% of the proxy votes received were in favour of the resolution put to the
First General Meeting.

99.61% of the proxy votes received were in favour of the resolution put to the
Adjourned Class Meeting of Subscription Shareholders.
