 FCX International plc: Appointment to the Board of Directors


Following the announcement by XCF Investments Limited on  10th
July 2002 that the Mandatory Offer for the entire issued share
capital  of FCX International plc had become unconditional  in
all  respects,  Mr  Paul Malcolm Bridges, a  Director  of  XCF
Investments Limited and partner of Alchemy Partners  LLP,  the
private  equity advisory business, has been appointed  to  the
Board of Directors of FCX International plc as a non-executive
Director with immediate effect.

In  accordance with the requirements under Rule  16.4  of  the
Listing  Rules  of the UK Listing Authority, FCX International
plc  confirms that Mr Bridges has no other Directorships in  a
publicly  quoted  company and has no relevant  matters  to  be
disclosed  under  paragraph 6.F.2(b) to  (g)  of  the  Listing
Rules.
