                       Notification of Interest in Shares

Jarvis Porter Group PLC (the "Company") received notification on 31 October 2003
that on 24 September 2003, Montpellier Group Plc ("Montpellier") transferred
12,775,000 ordinary shares (representing 26.64 per cent. of the Company's issued
share capital) registered in its own name to The Union Discount Company of
London Limited, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Montpellier.

As at 21 October 2003, Montpellier ceased to have a beneficial interest in the
shares of the Company as a result of the disposal of its subsidiary The Union
Discount Company of London Limited to Browallia Discount Company Limited.
