                    Notification of Major Interest in Shares



In accordance with the Companies Act 1985 (as amended) the Company was informed
on 3 December 2003 by Dr Jacques Gonella that as a result of sales his holding
of ordinary shares of 10p each in SkyePharma PLC now amounts to 41,991,292,
representing 6.8% of the issued share capital of the Company.
