RESULT OF GENERAL MEETING OF SHAREHOLDERS

At  a  general  meeting  held  yesterday in Paris,  the  requisite  majority  of
shareholders of ZCI approved:
-     the  resolutions relating to a transaction regarding the  introduction  of
  Vedanta Resources plc as a strategic equity partner in ZCI's subsidiary, Konkola
  Copper Mines plc; and
-    the appointment of Mr. T Kamwendo and Mr. J-P Rozan as directors of ZCI.
