                                Pre Close Update

i-mateTM (London AIM: IMTE), the specialist in Microsoft Windows Mobile devices
and software applications, today announces that sales in the final quarter have
been as predicted in their trading update of 26th January 2007, with revenues
for Q4 and the full year within the ranges provided. This will result in a
marginal loss before taxation for the 12 months to 31 March 2007. Cash held at
year-end was $65 million.

Following on from the announcement in January, management has undertaken a
complete structural and operational review to enable the Company's next stage of
growth and support the launch of new product ranges. This has also focused on
i-mate's ability to control certainty of production and quality of product.

The company will now operate with 4 regional sales territories, and centres of
technical expertise are being established; software will be based out of USA,
hardware out of UAE and R&D out of the UK.

All of i-mate's new devices are on schedule for mass production delivery
starting in June. The restructuring will complete in May and will result in
operational savings of approximately $3 million per annum.
