Van Dieman Mines Plc has been informed that Mike Etheridge, a non-executive
director of the Company, acquired 500,000 ordinary shares of 1 pence each (the
"Ordinary Shares") at a price of 10 pence per share for a total consideration of
#50,000.

Following this share purchase, Mike Etheridge holds 500,000 Ordinary Shares
representing 0.32 per cent of the Company's total voting rights.

The Company has also been informed that Ron Goodman, a non-executive director of
the Company, acquired 50,000 ordinary shares of 1 pence each (the "Ordinary
Shares") at a price of 10 pence per share for a total consideration of #5,000.

Following this share purchase, Ron Goodman holds 50,000 Ordinary Shares
representing 0.03 per cent of the Company's total voting rights.
