                                  CONTRACT WIN

Chieftain Group plc ('Chieftain' or the 'Group'), the industrial and engineering
support services group, is pleased to announce the contract award of a major
outfitting package for work in the oil and gas sector.

The work scope includes fabrication, installation and testing of process
pipework systems.  This is the largest contract ever secured by the Group in
this sector.

The contract will commence immediately with a Spring 2009 completion and the
Group is hopeful of being awarded a second unit during 2008.
