DARTMOOR INVESTMENT TRUST PLC

The Company has been informed that on 20 January 2000, Leveraged Income Fund
Limited acquired 1,500,000 ordinary 10p shares (representing 1.70% of the
issued class of capital) and Aberdeen Preferred Income Trust plc acquired
1,500,000 ordinary 10p shares (representing 1.70% of the issued class of
capital).

As a result, Leveraged Income Fund Limited now has an interest in 8,855,000
ordinary 10p shares of the Company (representing 10.03% of the issued class of
capital) and Aberdeen Preferred Income Trust plc now has an interest in
7,815,000 ordinary 10p shares of the Company (representing 8.85% of the issued
class of capital).

The total number of ordinary 10p shares managed by Aberdeen Asset Managers
Limited and its associated companies is 24,870,944 (representing 28.17% of
issued class of capital).
