Sportsquest, Inc.'s (Pink Sheets: SPQS) CEO Jeff Burns weighed in today on recent Fielding Eyewear (www.fieldingeyewear.com) announcements after visiting their South Georgia facility last week. “I’ve been charged for some time about the long-term growth possibilities that Fielding Eyewear has brought to the table. After visiting their office and distribution facility last week and seeing first hand some of the latest proprietary products they’re developing, I’m more excited than ever!”

Burns added that while the Mossy Oak® affiliation will play an integral part in the successful introduction of Fielding’s proprietary products into the major sporting goods chains, he was equally excited about the decision to expand the OptiXtras™ line to target mass-merchant chains and discount retailers worldwide. “When I saw the eyewear and accessory floor-shipper they’re designing for the debut of the OPX line at the NACS show in 2012, I was reminded of the staggering potential we have across multiple distribution channels. Having a proprietary product line that is attractive to the largest sporting goods retailers in the world is one thing…add to that the introduction of a separate brand to multiple thousands of convenience store and mass-merchant retailers and one can see the remarkable growth potential this company possesses!”

Burns continued: “Just the top three c-store chains that we’ve garnered interest with for the OPX brand represent over 16,000 individual U.S. stores and that’s just the tip of the ice-berg. Domestically and internationally, there are well over 100,000 potential convenience store prospects!” And speaking of international prospects, Burns interjected this: “During my visit to Fielding’s office last week, I was given a ‘bird’s eye’ view of the potential prospects for their new Mossy Oak® eyewear line and was delighted to see interest from specific international retailers and distributors in Germany, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, South America, and England. And this doesn’t include Fielding’s recent Vendor Approval Status with AAFES who distributes to all U.S. Military commissaries in the world. In a down economy, it’s nice to know that your prospect list literally spans the globe!”

Burns also added that the decision has been made to keep the Fielding and OPX operations under the same roof… for now. “The current Fielding headquarters and distribution facility is situated perfectly to maximize logistical and operational efficiencies during the initial growth stages of the company and there’s even room for some expansion. When the time comes, expanding the warehousing and logistical capabilities will be a welcome challenge for Fielding execs!”
