Ameresco's nomination was propelled by the company's comprehensive 2023 Impact Report, titled "Doing Well, by Doing Good: People, Planet, and Policy." This report highlights Ameresco’s strategic efforts to create lasting environmental, social, and governance (ESG) outcomes. Key Highlights from the 2023 Impact Report:

  • Environmental Impact: Ameresco’s initiatives and renewable energy assets prevented approximately 16 million metric tons of CO2 emissions in 2023 alone, contributing to over 110 million metric tons of CO2 avoided since the company’s IPO in 2010.
  • Diversity and Inclusion Initiatives: Ameresco has been instrumental in fostering a diverse and inclusive workplace through various programs, including monthly themed DEI initiatives and partnerships with organizations like STEM Like a Girl to increase representation in the clean energy sector.
  • Employee Development: The company celebrated the completion of over 26,000 employee training hours in 2023 and introduced a mentorship program involving 150 participants, reinforcing its commitment to professional growth and career advancement.
  • Community Engagement: Ameresco employees contributed over 3,000 volunteer hours in 2023, including a nationwide Earth Day Cleanup and participation in a company-wide Go Green Challenge focused on sustainability.

The 2023 Impact Report further emphasizes Ameresco's long-term goals, including achieving net-zero scope 1 and 2 emissions by 2040, reducing customers’ carbon footprints by a cumulative 500 million metric tons by 2050, and maintaining a culture of safety and continuous development opportunities for employees.
