Ford Motor (F) and Chongqing Changan Automobile Co. (000625.SZ) have agreed to launch at least 18 new car models over the next three years in China via their joint venture.

The two companies will also accelerate the production of cars under Ford's luxury brand Lincoln.

The latest initiative is part of an agreement for the two parties to deepen their partnership in China, Chongqing Changan Automobile said Thursday.

The joint venture also plans to manufacture Ford's new-energy vehicles in China, the Chinese company said.
