--Florida lawmakers are trying to undo efforts to strip Walt Disney Co. of its special tax privileges in the state of Florida, the Financial Times reports.

--Florida state legislators voted in April to dissolve the special tax district that houses and allows the Walt Disney World theme park to self-govern.

--The dissolution came after former Chief Executive Bob Chapek spoke out against Florida's Parental Rights in Education Act, described by opponents as the "Don't Say Gay" bill, dragging Disney into a public scuffle with Florida Governor Ron DeSantis.

--Following Mr. Chapek's departure last month, Florida lawmakers believe a resolution can be reached with the return of Bob Iger as CEO and are working on a compromise deal to restore Walt Disney World's special tax status, according to the FT's unnamed sources.
