EDF's Acquisition of GE Operations Probed by UK Antitrust Watchdog

The U.K.'s competition regulator said Monday that it is looking
into Electricite de France SA's deal to buy General Electric Co.'s
nuclear steam-power business.
The Competition and Markets Authority is inviting comments on
the deal as it assesses whether it could affect competition in the
U.K.
State-controlled utility EDF in November signed the acquisition
of the activities of GE Steam Power, a subsidiary of the U.S.
group, for an undisclosed sum.
The CMA said it will accept comments from interest parties until
April 14, ahead of a potential formal investigation.
