10:10 ET -- McDonald's is one of the most mentioned companies in the U.S. across all news items in the last 12 hours, according to Factiva data. McDonald's posted third-quarter revenue and earnings that topped Wall Street's expectations amid strong worldwide same-store-sales growth. The fast-food giant reported adjusted earnings of $3.19 a share for the quarter, up from $2.68 a share a year earlier and well ahead of the $3.00 that analysts polled by FactSet, on average, were expecting.
