Program Saves Money, Creates Jobs and Provides Valuable Customer
Service Benefits WALTHAM, Mass., Sept. 18 /PRNewswire/ -- Imagitas
Inc. and the Ohio Bureau of Motor Vehicles today recapped the first
year of their public-private alliance by noting that the program
has produced greater-than-expected cost savings, created jobs in
Ohio and helped BMV's ongoing commitment to improve customer
service. Through the alliance, BMV has contracted to have Imagitas
produce annual vehicle registration renewal notices for Ohioans.
Imagitas is able to provide this service at no cost to Ohio BMV
and, in fact, has exceeded projected savings for BMV. "This program
is a great example of how public and private entities can work
together to achieve powerful objectives," said Alfie Charles, Vice
President of Imagitas, Inc. "This program has not only exceeded
BMV's financial expectations, it has also helped realize other
goals that include economic development, job creation and BMV's
customer service objectives." The program is funded by
advertisements that are inserted into the vehicle registration
renewal notices. To date, Imagitas has saved nearly $1.5 million
for the Ohio BMV - well above initial projections for the year. The
program has allowed the agency to reduce its overhead and dedicate
more funds to local governments to pay for local road and bridge
repair. Production of the registration renewal notices is performed
at a Miamisburg, Ohio facility, which has helped to create new jobs
for Ohioans. The Imagitas program is also partially responsible for
dramatic growth in BMV's online registration renewal program.
Registration renewal notices include information about
http://www.oplates.com/, where Ohioans can renew their registration
24 hours a day, 7 days a week, avoiding trips to a BMV office. For
2006, registrations renewed through http://www.oplates.com/ have
increased 70%, a trend that could reach one million online renewals
by year- end. The Imagitas program complies with federal and state
privacy laws. Under the program, personal information is never
shared with, sold or disclosed to participating advertisers. About
