                        APPOINTMENT OF FINANCE DIRECTOR


C.H.E. Group PLC ('C.H.E') announces that Mr. Paul Mitchell will be joining the
Company as the Finance Director on 5th January 2004.

Paul, aged 45, until recently with the Intercontinental Hotel Group has over 20
years experience in the hospitality industry, holding senior finance positions
with leading organisations, Allied Lyons, Forte, Granada and Compass. He was
Finance Director of Posthouse Hotels Ltd. He is a qualified accountant and also
Chair of Education of the British Association of Hospitality Accountants.

Commenting on the appointment Peter Catesby, Chairman of C.H.E. said 'The Board
are delighted to welcome Paul to the Company. His international financial
experience in our industry will greatly assist the Group's development in the
future.'
