Corning Elects Tripeny as Senior Vice President

Corning Incorporated (NYSE:GLW) announced that its board of
directors has elected R. Tony Tripeny, 50, senior vice president
and corporate controller. Tripeny will continue to report to James
B. Flaws, vice chairman and chief financial officer.
Tripeny joined Corning in 1985 as a corporate accounting manager
at Corning Cable Systems (CCS). He held various leadership
positions within the finance function of Corning Cable Systems
before being named chief financial officer of CCS in 2000. He took
on additional responsibilities as group controller,
Telecommunications, in 2003. He was named division vice president
and Operations Controller in August 2004 and was named vice
president and Corporate Controller in October 2005. Tripeny was
named principal accounting officer for Corning in March 2009.
