Corning MobileAccess Named Top Vendor of Distributed Antenna Systems by ABI Research
25 Setembro 2012 - 9:15AM
Business Wire
Corning MobileAccess, part of Corning Incorporated’s (NYSE:GLW)
Telecommunications segment, has been ranked the No.1 distributed
antenna systems (DAS) vendor in ABI Research’s Competitive
Assessment report for the in-building wireless market.
Corning MobileAccess was recognized in the assessment report
published last month by ABI Research, a leading market intelligence
firm.
“We’re extremely excited to be named the top-rated DAS vendor by
ABI Research, one of the most-respected technology market
intelligence firms,” said Mike Genovese, senior vice president,
Wireless Networks and New Business Development, Corning Cable
Systems. “This recognition is a testament to our innovative
approach, which aims to provide carriers and their customers with
top-flight, in-building wireless solutions that fit specific venue
types.”
Corning MobileAccess’ DAS is currently in use in major locations
throughout the United States. The company’s technology was
instrumental in providing “always-on” wireless coverage earlier
this year to several sites throughout Indianapolis, including Lucas
Oil Stadium, for Super Bowl XLVI.
Also, Corning MobileAccess was the primary DAS provider for
International CTIA WIRELESS® 2012, one of the world’s premier
wireless conferences. The Corning MobileAccess DAS was also
installed in key locations throughout Tampa and Charlotte in
support of the 2012 Republican and Democratic national conventions,
as well as in major hotels, hospitals, sports venues and other
locations across the country.
Over the past year, Corning MobileAccess has introduced new
solutions in its family of products. The company recently launched
MobileAccessGX, a high-power, 40-watt DAS remote unit for campuses
as well as outdoor, open-air, and underground environments.
MobileAccessHX, a 2-watt remote solution ideal for open indoor
areas – such as airports, high rises and parking garages – was also
recently released. Corning MobileAccess’ commitment to innovation
continues to drive the company’s investments in its next generation
of DAS solutions.
“Corning Mobile Access brings together the ability to offer both
cabling and innovative DAS solutions, including single-cable,
multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) support, DAS optimization and
MobileAccessVE, a unique CAT 5-based solution that was the first to
deliver cellular services over a local-area-network (LAN)
infrastructure,” said Aditya Kaul, practice director, Mobile
Networks, ABI Research. “This approach places Corning MobileAccess
as a top contender in the in-building wireless solutions
market.”
