Home-sharing company Airbnb Inc. on Thursday said it's pausing submissions of all new experiences that are part of its nights and experiences offering.

"As part of our focus on perfecting the core service, including Airbnb Experiences, we are pausing submissions of all new experiences," Airbnb said in a statement. The company said the pause doesn't impact existing experiences.

Nights and experiences represent activities reserved through the platform. The company first expanded into such offerings in 2016, which has supplemented its home-rentals business. Airbnb reported 88.2 million nights and experiences booked in the fourth quarter, a 20% increase from a year earlier.

Travel industry news site Skift first reported about the change at Airbnb.
