VMware Shares Rise After CMA Greenlights Broadcom Deal

Shares of VMware rose after British regulators cleared
Broadcom's roughly $61 billion takeover of the multi-cloud services
provider.
VMware stock climbed almost 6% to $163.71 in premarket trading.
Shares were already up more than 27% over the past 12 months
through Friday's close.
Broadcom agreed more than a year ago to pay both stock and cash
for VMware.
Earlier Monday, the U.K.'s Competition and Markets Authority
said the deal wouldn't substantially reduce competition in the
supply of server hardware components. Broadcom said Monday it
expects the deal to close on Oct. 30.
Shares of Broadcom rose about 0.4% to $829.50 in premarket
trading.
